Stain Glass Art
Age 2 and up!
Stain Glass Art
Items you will need:
Old Socks (adult socks work best they are thicker)
Peeled Crayons (NO BLACK)
Wax Paper
Flat electric (pancake type) griddle
What you will do:
Peel your crayons first. While doing that, plug in your electric
griddle to warm up and get hot. Have your child wear old socks on both
hands. Place a piece of wax paper on the griddle. Give your child a crayon,
let them color the wax paper while it melts the crayon. You can throw in a
Science lesson by asking what happens to the solid wax when it gets hot.
Later you can cut the wax paper into shapes, like leaves and ornaments. I
usually punch a hole through them and hang them in my windows. The colors
are so beautiful.
**This is a project is used with preschool-summer camp age kids. It is
SAFE with plenty of supervision. All kids love it, no matter what the age.**
